Was hat dieses alberne rote Plüschding gemeinsam mit zwei umwerfend schönen und leicht bekleideten jungen Frauen? Die Italiener finden: genug, um zusammen in einer Fernsehsendung aufzutreten, die es sich zum Ziel gemacht hat, Skandale aller Art aufzudecken und diese einem breiten Publikum zugänglich zu machen.
"Striscia la notizia" (wörtlich übersetzt bedeutet das soviel wie: "ein Comicstreifen der Nachrichten") muss man sich so vorstellen: Zwei alternde aufgedrehte Moderatoren leiten einen durch die Sendung, die aus mehreren Clips besteht, in denen ein Journalist überall in Italien die Skandalträger zur Rede stellt. Für die Überbrückung der lästigen Pausen zwischen diesen Clips stehen die sogenannten "Veline"("Showgirls") zur Verfügung . Die Hauptbeschäftigung dieser beiden Damen besteht darin, wenn plötzlich und ziemlich unmotiviert Musik gespielt wird, aufzuspringen und sofort erotischst alles zu schwingen und zu schütteln, was sie zu bieten haben. Und weil uns das natürlich noch nicht zur völligen Belustigung ausreicht, tritt dann noch "Gabibbo" hinzu, der lustige rote Bruder von Barney, der sich nun zu den praktisch in Unterwäsche tanzenden Showgirls gesellt.

What does this ridiculous red thing have in common with two gorgeous and scantily dressed women? Italians think: Enough to appear together in a TV show that aims to publish scandals of all sorts taking place throughout Italy.
"Striscia la notizia" (literally translated "a comicstrip of news") has to be pictured like this: Two elderly and goofy hosts are presenting various clips of a reporter who confronts creaters of scandal right at the scene of the crime. To bridge the undesirable pauses in between there are the so called "Veline" ("Showgirls") available. The chief activity of these two ladies consists of jumping to their feet whenever music starts to play and then shaking and wiggling everything that is available for this purpose. And as if all this does not suffice to complete merriment, another dancer "Gabibbo" - Barney's funny red brother - will then step on the dancefloor and join the two half-naked dancing showgirls.
